Fuse Beads Kit - Everything You Need to Get Started
Fuse beads (also known as perler beads) are an amazing way to let your creativity run wild.fuse beads kit They're small heat-activated plastic beads that you can place on specialized pegboards and mats to make fab designs. There are three different sizes of perler bead: the standard 5mm beads, larger 10mm 'Biggie' beads and smaller 2.fuse beads kit 6mm 'Mini' beads. The bigger beads are easier for kids to get to grips with but the mini ones are great for making intricate designs that require more shading and colour gradients.
You'll also need some perler bead supplies to get you started with these brilliant little beads.fuse beads kit The most important is a good iron or mini heat press - a regular household iron with no steam setting will work perfectly fine but an industrial-sized heat press would be better if you have one. You'll also need a roll of perler bead ironing paper. This is what you'll use to cover your design before you fuse the beads together - it's a bit like wax paper but much cheaper, and parchment paper will also do just as well.
Most perler bead kits come with some of these supplies so you can start experimenting straight away. You'll also need some perler bead colours - you can buy them in buckets which will give you lots of variety, or in sets which will contain specific colours. There's also a special range of 'perler cap' beads which are only open on one end, which makes them more simple to work with as you don't have to heat them all the way through to close them.
